The Protein Science Review is one of the oldest reviews in the nutrition industry. It started with a series of articles published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association in 1980. We are continuing this review and will add new information as we find it. If you have any suggestions about a review, please let us know!
Nutrition is all about good information. For this review we'll be discussing: 1. Quality of protein. 2. Nutrition quality. 3. Serving size. 4. How well protein bars hold up to eating. The best protein bars on the market are usually made with whey, which has a higher protein concentration than milk. In a 1/3 to 1/2 cup serving of whey bars, the protein content is 1/3 the total protein content of milk. Most protein bars are made with soy. Because of this, they have lower levels of protein than milk bars. This is also why protein bars are so calorie-rich, making them the ideal option for people who want to stay slim while eating healthy foods. 5. How protein bars compare to other snacks. Protein bars contain the same amount of calories as other snack foods.
